Installation methods

  1. Virtual machine: Use VirtualBox or VMware, create a new VM, and attach the Linux ISO. Boot and follow the installer.
  2. Dual boot: Shrink your existing partition, create a bootable USB with the ISO, boot from USB, and run the installer. Choose “Install alongside Windows/macOS” if offered.
  3. Full install: Replace the existing OS entirely. Make sure you have backups.

If you're new to Linux, start with a VM or dual boot so you can keep your current system while you learn.
